Pudgy Penguins Launch Browser-Based Game Dubbed Pudgy World

Pudgy Penguins has unveiled its latest game, dubbed the Pudgy World. Aimed at onboarding as many players as possible, the project designed the game as a free-to-play browser game for users of all ages.

Recall that the NFT project’s first mention of the Pudgy World was in December 2023. At the time, Pudgy Penguins noted that the game would be a narrative-driven, open-ended gaming experience for every player. Fast-forward to the present, and the penguin-themed project has lived up to its promise.

Like other games in the Pudgy Penguins ecosystem, Pudgy World features cute, fluffy penguins in icy environs. Participants can explore 12 towns in the game, including Pudgy Port, Pengu Plaza, Icebreaker Alley, Whispering Hollow, and Pudgy Peaks. These towns all exist within The Berg.

The game has one top mission: helping Paxton Pengu look for Polly, a pink-skinned penguin that went missing in the Icebreaker Alley. Along the way, players get to move through all 12 towns, meet new friends, and decipher the truth behind Polly’s disappearance. There is also a Town Chat where participants can communicate with one another.

In the game, participants can customize their penguin characters with different gear. They can also play mini-games and go fishing. 

Pudgy Penguins has reached “hundreds of millions of people” globally. Tapping into this popularity, the penguin-themed project welcomes these individuals into its web-based game. Chefgoyardi, the co-founder of Pudgy Penguins’ parent firm, Igloo Inc., emphasized that the game can instantly take on hundreds of players simultaneously.

“Multiplayer is live. Hundreds of players can share the same space in real time, express themselves through emotes, and yes, throw snowballs at each other,” the top executive said.

Notably, the project’s native crypto, PENGU, saw a mild increase following news of the game’s debut. At the time of writing, it sold for $0.0072, representing approximately 4% increase in the past 24 hours. Although the Pudgy Penguin NFT collection did not see a significant increase in its floor price, its daily trading volume soared by over 72% to $61.7K.

The latest initiative trails several gameplay experiences that Pudgy Penguins has launched. With nearly three years of hype around the Pudgy World, the project has already begun to amass much attention from players of all ages.
